Provox® NiD

Low Airflow Resistance

All Provox® voice prostheses are optimised for low speaking resistance.

Safe Placement

The second-generation Provox® prosthesis (Provox®2) allows bi-directional insertion, i.e. either anterograde insertion through the stoma or retrograde insertion through mouth and pharynx. Anterograde replacement, which can be performed by any trained health care professional, is usually preferred. The Provox® NiD is easy for the patient to insert, remove and clean themselves. The Provox® NiD is attached to a safety medallion that is too wide to fall into the tracheostoma.

Easy Maintenance

The Provox® Flush and Brush are designed for easy in-situ cleaning of Provox® Voice Prostheses. The Provox® Flush is designed to comfortably flush the lumen of the Provox voice prostheses with water. Regular use of the flush is proven to prolong device lifetime, even if only used with air. The Provox® Brush is a valuable maintenance tool for cleaning the inside of the Provox® voice prostheses. The Provox® NID is a non-indwelling voice prosthesis, designed to be inserted, removed and cleaned by the patients themselves. Each prosthesis comes with a non-sterile, reusable NID Inserter.

  • The Provox® NID has a strong polypropylene string with a safety medallion attached to it which prevents the prosthesis from entering the airways
